Fairbury Public Schools recognized the need to refine its visual identity and website while preserving the tradition and uniqueness at the core of their brand. Through in-depth research and stakeholder engagement, the school system gained insights into key brand attributes, areas of potential growth, and desired user experiences. This foundation informed strategic decisions to update the visual identity—strengthening brand cohesion and modern appeal—while honoring the legacy that has shaped Fairbury Public Schools for generations.

Brand Research

UNANIMOUS embarked on a comprehensive research initiative to evaluate the Jeffs mascot and brand, identify opportunities for improvement, and analyze the effectiveness of the website as a tool and resource for the district. By engaging a diverse range of students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members through surveys, focus groups, and phone interviews, the study explored existing brand strengths and pinpointed areas for enhancement. It also illuminated how the school’s website could better serve as a practical resource for all audiences, uncovering both the challenges to address and potential improvements that would elevate the overall user experience.

Visual Identity

Building on the research findings, UNANIMOUS refined and polished the existing Jeffs mascot to elevate its visual presence without losing the distinctive uniqueness and character that have long defined it. The design team incorporated feedback from stakeholders, carefully balancing tradition with modern design principles. By accentuating key features and streamlining its overall appearance, the refreshed mascot embodies the same spirit and energy, while reflecting a more polished, contemporary look that resonates with current students, alumni, and community members alike. 

Alongside updating the mascot, the brand’s color palette underwent a thoughtful evaluation. Slight adjustments were introduced to modernize the visual identity while remaining true to its familiar, signature colors. These subtle enhancements offer improved consistency and vibrancy across different platforms—digital, print, and beyond—ensuring that Fairbury Public Schools retains its heritage and legacy while embracing a fresh, revitalized identity.

Brand Logo Suite

UNANIMOUS designed and developed a comprehensive brand suite of logo assets that would maintain a consistent impact across a wide range of platforms and mediums. From athletic gear and gym floors to digital channels and printed collateral, the newly refined mascot and supporting visual elements were crafted to seamlessly adapt to various touchpoints. By establishing clear usage guidelines and ensuring each asset accurately reflects the school’s distinctive character, UNANIMOUS delivered a cohesive, versatile brand system that amplifies Fairbury Public Schools’ identity—wherever the Jeffs mascot appears.
